Class of 2023 Audition Song: "Best Part" by H.E.R. Maya Provençal is a junior from Denver, Colorado (who is actually too lazy to hike, so don’t ask her if she loves the mountains). When she isn’t eating Maya is most likely napping or eating. In her spare time Maya runs track for Duke University and enjoys watching tasteful anime.
Class of 2023 – Music Director Audition Song: "Honeymoon Avenue" by Ariana Grade. Avery Lythcott-Haims is a junior from Palo Alto, California and will rep the Bay Area a little more than she should. When she’s not singing she’s probably dancing, and if she’s not dancing she’s distracting her friends or going on spontaneous trips to West Campus for grilled cheese. Avery is also an avid fan of shoes and friendship bracelets.
Class of 2022 – President Audition Song: "Killing Me Softly" by Fugees Kamryn Washington is a senior alto from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She hasn’t the slightest clue what her major will be, but she knows that at some point she’d like to pursue fluency in Spanish. In her spare time, she likes obsessing over one song at a time on a biweekly basis, playing games on her phone, and, most of all, laughing too hard with good friends.
Class of 2023 - Concert Manager Audition Song: "Andante Andante" by ABBA Hannah is a junior alto from Alexandria, VA. She is currently thinking about majoring in Economics or International Relations but seeing as she is completely indecisive, that will likely change. Outside of class, Hannah’s favorite things to do include writing songs, watching the TV show Friends on repeat, and eating an unhealthy amount of dark chocolate.
Class of 2024 Audition Song: "I'll Never Love Again" by Lady Gaga Hi! I’m Isabel Siebrecht, from Seattle WA, and I am a freshman. Music has been a huge part of life from my first musical in first grade, to the first open mic I performed at when I was ten. I sang in a competitive jazz choir for three years in high school and it was the most incredible experience because I was able to share such a huge part of myself with a team. I am so excited to be part of Rhythm & Blue and continue my journey
Class of 2023 – Business Manager Audition Song: "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran Ben Simon is a current junior tenor from Boston, MA! He really doesn't know what he wants to study: chemistry, biology, global health, comp sci, neuroscience–the list goes on... He is possibly/probably on the pre-health track. Outside of R&B you'll find him sitting in Marketplace for unreasonably long periods of time, sleeping, or searching for dogs to play with on campus.
Class of 2024 Audition Song: Take Me to Church by Hozier George Romero is a sophomore from Houston, Texas. When he isn’t singing or listening to Disney musicals, he enjoys vegetable gardening and taking long walks while listening to audiobooks. In the future, he aspires to own a house with a sauna and a salt water fish tank.
Class of 2024 - Assistant Music Director Audition Song: "Preach" by John Legend Jeff Du is a sophomore from Baltimore, Maryland, studying economics and statistics. When he’s not composing new arrangements and jamming on guitar and ukulele, he can be found aggressively cheering on the Celtics, playing pickup sports with the boys, and going on long walks around Duke at midnight.
Class of 2022 Audition Song: "Sinnerman" by Nina Simone Paul is a senior bass from Richmond, Virginia. He plans to study Computer Science and/or Chemistry, and PPE because why not. Outside of singing, you’ll find him running around Duke wondering why his code won’t work, reading Orgo notes, trying to get people to go hiking, and arguing about the Constitution in Moot Court and about anything with everyone else.
Class of 2022 Audition Song: "Wagon Wheel" by Darius Rucker. Haynes is a senior bass from Nashville, TN. He is thinking about majoring in Public Policy and Environmental Science. His hobbies include playing spikeball, adventuring, and painting.
Class of 2023 - Publicity Manager Audition Song: “Still Crazy After All These Years” by Paul Simon When he’s not singing Ed Sheeran songs at the top of his lungs or playing guitar in his dorm, Nazim Duran is playing trombone at the football games for the Duke University Marching Band or grinding his engineering homework in the hopes that he might one day be a mechanical engineer.
Class of 2023 Audition Song: "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra Thomas Zornig is a sophomore from Campinas, Brazil. When he’s not singing bass, he enjoys producing music, riding roller coasters, and playing soccer.
Class of 2024 Audition Song: "Frozen" by Sabrina Claudio I’m a Ghanaian immigrant from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. For now I’m on the premed track intending to major in biology with a concentration in biochem and minor in compsci. In my free time I like to chill with friends, work out, read, or watch whatever I’ve recently been introduced to on Netflix (right now it’s La Doña).
